I worked within an industry of an IT solutions provider catering to B2B services, there was a demand from business users for a robust solution to efficiently duplicate client records and associated project documents.

The goal was to accelerate the onboarding process for new clients with similar business model.

The Task

To implement a bespoke solution, enabling the sales executive team members to seamlessly clone client records using a Lightening data table while ensuring the accuracy of project-related data.

Developing a specialized Salesforce screen flow named “Record Dup” tailored for the sales team.

The Action / Approach

Screen Flow Design:

Utilized Salesforce Screen Flow to design an intuitive selection screen with fields specific to the business users.

I incorporated the Lightning Data Table component, enabling providers to choose clients and associated records for cloning.

Data Validation and Precision:

Implemented dynamic record preview, showcasing client details alongside critical project-related data.

I integrated confirmation steps and data validation to guarantee the precision of project details in duplicated records.

Automation Logic:

Leveraged Salesforce Process Builder and Flow to orchestrate the cloning logic, including intricate project documents.

I ensured compliance with the organization standards during the cloning process.

The Result

This solution empowered sales team members to clone client records and associated projects efficiently, minimizing data entry time.

It enhanced their user experience with a visually appealing and industry-specific screen flow.

This project was able to reduced the risk of inaccuracies in project-related data by automating the cloning process.

Improved the creation of new client records with accurate and replicated project information with a unique name for every new clone.
