Built a SaaS platform to simplify document control and compliance
The Situation
Project-led and compliance-sensitive businesses can accumulate large volumes of documents, evidence and operational records across different people, locations and systems.
This creates practical problems around document control, finding the correct information, maintaining audit evidence and giving teams confidence that important records are properly managed.
The opportunity was to turn document control from an administrative burden into a structured digital workflow.
The Task
As Co-Founder, CTO, Lead Developer and Product Owner, I took responsibility for turning the business problem into a working SaaS product.
My role covered requirements discovery, product design, workflow design, technical development, testing, prioritisation and release decisions.
The aim was to create a system that made document control straightforward for everyday users while providing the structure required for compliance-sensitive environments.
The Action / Approach
designed and built DocConnect around the practical lifecycle of business and compliance documentation.
I translated document-control requirements into digital workflows covering how information is organised, accessed, controlled and prepared as evidence.
I designed the product around secure document flows and operational governance, with particular attention to making information easier to manage and retrieve rather than simply creating another document repository.
I led the product decisions and development work myself, taking the platform from problem discovery through workflow design, application development, testing feedback and release priorities.
My wider experience in compliance-led environments also helped shape the product around real operational requirements rather than purely technical assumptions. The Result
