The Situation

[Can we say who needed this and what the problem is they were trying to solve? Also better in full sentences]

Replacement and Upgrade of Intranet System

The Task

[More detail would be great. Could you tell us what Hive is and what made it so functional?]

We originally took on the project to cover bug checking and changes to a legacy .net application. The requirements for significant upgrades and new features meant that it was time to build a newer version, with functionality on par with the most of the features in Hive.

The Action / Approach

[We try to speak as part of the network, avoiding ‘I’ and first-person pronouns and using ‘we’ instead]

We used a base platform that handles user management and roles, and a basic CMS, with custom forms and parts dynamically added where necessary.

  • Existing data and forms were rolled into a “dynamic data” module that can handle various data types on a page by page basis
  • Shopping Cart/Product management and basic order management were created to allow for internal management of goods
  • Notifications added to pages/data structures
  • Concept of sub sites was added, with a master Intranet Site and 8 sub sites.

The Result

[Can we say how much money they saved and what the serious upgrade involved?]

  • The client saved considerable money as they only had to develop one site and not nine.
  • The client got a serious upgrade on their ability to manage data.

Here’s an internal version of Dynamic Data below
