The Situation

At E.ON Drive Infrastructure (UK), EV charging projects depended on statutory DNO grid-connection applications. Submissions were tracked inconsistently, errors were common, and applications regularly stalled or went missing.

The Task

Take ownership of the application process: make sure no statutory deadline was missed, every submission was right first time, and every step could be audited.

The Action / Approach

Built the process from scratch: a pre-submission checklist for every application, all documents stored against the site in Sitetracker, and one shared status that engineering, procurement and finance read from, with statutory dates visible. Coordinated each application with the governance teams and the DNOs, and ran a regular status cadence.

The Result

No missed regulatory deadline across 50 applications, with a full audit trail on every site. Before, applications regularly stalled or went missing because of errors in the submission. After, none were lost: each one moved at the DNO’s pace instead of waiting on corrections from our side.
