Transitioning a global SaaS company to Agile ways of working
The Situation
SHL’s software delivery capability was not fit for purpose for a global, digitally led organisation.
The Task
As Head of the Digital PMO, led the introduction of a new model based on Spotify’s scaled agile framework.
The Action / Approach
Ran stakeholder workshops to elaborate the new squad structure; defined roles and responsibilities; introduced OKRs (objectives and key results) as well as standard agile metrics; introduced a new resource management tool covering nearly 300 people across 3 continents; and coached scrum masters on implementing agile ceremonies and behaviours.
The Result
The model drove big efficiency gains (wastage down by up to 50% in some teams), big time to market reductions (from months to weeks) and improved quality/visibility of squad backlogs.
