The Situation

The business needed to divest one of the customer facing segments. This was during a period of turbulent change and internal / external scrutiny.

The Task

Create and deliver an engagement approach for all stakeholders to protect the reputation and manage colleague experience.

The Action / Approach

  • Developed the stakeholder heatmap and approach.
  • Created the core narrative, questions, material, and activities as a countdown plan.
  • Worked with the acquiring parties to align messages and timing and managed TUPE activities.
  • Coached Exec and made sure leaders were equipped for each milestone and planned the activity they needed to complete.
  • Supported their desired outcome to manage the colleague experience carefully and fairly so they had a positive experience.

The Result

  • Stakeholders were briefed in sequence and there was no adverse external press / partner reaction.
  • Colleagues were briefed and there was a smooth handover to the new owners.
  • Recommendation and endorsement from CEO and Exec team.
