About Helen

I've been a communication and change consultant for the last 14 years.

I’ve led all sorts of complex change projects, including business and IT transformation, acquisition, takeover and integration, cost-saving, business sale, separation, annual and interim results, crisis situations and recapitalisation.

My people change experience includes managing difficult changes, such as headcount reduction, restructure, TUPE, outsourcing, branch closures, terms and conditions/pension consultation, pay restructure and flexible benefits/ tax changes.

I’ve led some brilliant engagement projects like a new brand launch, business performance improvement, new business strategies, London 2012 sponsorship and culture change.

I've also led sales, operations, credit, and IT teams so I can have credible and relevant conversations with stakeholders and contribute to business strategy.

I’m a PRINCE2 project manager and I’ve managed changes to systems, locations, customer websites, and team structures.
  

Current Role Details

I work on a fractional basis as a Head of Communications / Comms Lead. I like to describe this as full-time head and heart, part-time cost.

I’ve created and delivered corporate communications strategies for blue-chip companies going through fierce change and inspirational engagement.

This experience means I can act fast, bring fresh thinking, reliable playbooks and the ingredients from tested solutions.

Delivery and Achievements
Set up and recruited a communications function. Created the strategy, introduced planning and prioritisation, measurement, governance and business strategy campaigns. Planned new channel mix.

I created and delivered the strategy to engage 6,000 people. Incl all elements of reward, the first cycle of flexible benefits and change to tax; pay restructure and pension auto enrolment.

The UKs third largest pharmacy had a new owner and needed to launch as a new brand by February 2015.

Wrote new brand narrative, tone of voice guide, external stakeholder briefings, Interactive leader toolkit, 2,000 colleague event. Change management for physical separation and rebrand.


CO-OP BANK - Interim Communication Lead

Delivered change and crisis communication to reach employees, customer facing teams, leaders, democratic members, trade unions, suppliers and regulators.
