Project Managing an Org Transformation for Logistics Tech Global Growth
The Situation
A logistics tech organisation that is a critical supply chain partner for the on-demand food delivery services that we have all come to rely on over the pandemic. The success of the client in the UK is 10x greater than in any other market so the C-Suite wanted to reorganise operational staff to drive for similar growth in other markets. The senior leadership team had all recently left and the organisation was highly unstable and volatile needing quick and focused intervention to fix organisational structures and behaviours.
The Task
I was appointed to project manage and carry out organisational design activities for a Global Operations and a UK Focused Portfolio Management Office.
The Action / Approach
I
- Developed and implemented a UK portfolio management office that drove alignment between UK and global functions, in support of the tech/logistics company’s high growth ambitions
- Liaised with C-suite to coordinate org design program and transition planning
- Led workstreams for org design, transition and communications for courier and customer-facing personnel
- Developed new ways of working for UK and Global Teams
The Result
The UK Portfolio Management Office has become instrumental in leading OKR planning and delivery for the UK operations
Global Operations is now underpinning growth across European markets.
