The Situation

In 2010, the cloud computing was very new concept in the market. Fujitsu asked me to develop a new strategic  and marketing direction for this new business.

The challenge to be addressed was how business needs to evolve to match the delivery of agile IT and furthermore how Fujitsu needs to develop its services offerings to meet this new customer requirement.

The Task

How can Fujitsu facilitate business agility for its customers?

What makes the greatest impact in decision marking process?

What and how customer needs to change to become business agile?

The Action / Approach

To establish  clear objective for my research, I conducted workshop with CTO , CIO (Chief innovation officer), sales and marketing heads from Fujitsu. Finalised questionnaire for the research with Fujitsu’s senior management team.

Identified resources and mapped and managed my stakeholders carefully.

I conducted empirical qualitative  research with various CXO in number of industries i.e. FMCG, Banking, Construction, Telecommunication, Pharmaceuticals, Financial, Energy and Power, Engineering, NHS, Services, Restaurant, FMCG  and Gambling etc. I chose a wide spectrum of industries for research to ensure that I captured maximum opinions of leadership on cloud computing.

The Result

Fujitsu was impressed with the outcome. I presented my findings and recommendations to Fujitsu’s  board and senior management team. My recommendations were adopted and applied to their future offerings in cloud computing.

Fujitsu published my recommendations in their white book, which is distributed amongst CXO across their client base.
