The Situation

A growing organisation had multiple leadership initiatives in place, but no coherent approach, resulting in inconsistent leadership quality and limited organisational impact.

I was engaged by the HR Director, supported by the CEO, following a review of leadership effectiveness and capability gaps across the business.

The Task

The HR Director invited me to design and implement a firmwide leadership development programme that embedded leadership capability into everyday work without disrupting delivery.

The Action / Approach

I approached this as a system design challenge, aligning leadership development with business priorities, governance, and existing workflows.

We introduced a structured programme combining assessment, workshops, coaching, and in-role application, ensuring leaders practised and embedded new behaviours in real time.

The Result

The following year, the organisation saw a 18% improvement in strategic execution, a 23% increase in leadership effectiveness scores, and a 14% uplift in employee engagement.
