The Situation

The business divestment timescale was defined contractually and the workload was fixed and non-negotiable. The availability of resource with the required experience was strictly limited. There was no flexibility.

The Task

Although business processes for both the remaining and the divested businesses were to remain unchanged, neither business should be able to access the data of the other. A ‘wall’ was needed to guarantee that separation.

The Action / Approach

Through a combination of detailed planning and monitoring, simple hard work and clear communications the programme was delivered on time. The CIO of the client organisation commented that he had believed the programme was not deliverable in the timescales required.

The Result

Successful completion on time and within budget. The two businesses were able to operate independently on the contractually committed date.
