The Situation

The business’s existing SaaS suite was not able to handle a particular type of use case well. This meant that revenue opportunities were being missed. The challenge was to find a way to create a new product that would enable the business to monetise this use case.

The Task

My role was to define the product, put together the technical team to deliver it, and see it through to monetisation

The Action / Approach

I researched the various needs taking input from various sources in the market, made a proposal, specified the product, recruited the tech team and led them through to an implementation in approx 6 weeks. After that I worked with the Exec team to implement an incentive scheme to get internal users to start using the product. Once it was used live I gathered the data to demonstrate how this product could help in the relevant use case.

The Result

This product generated about 20% of company revenue within 2 years.
