D365 CRM and Business Central ERP Transformation - Manufacturing Digital Transformation
The Situation
Manufacturing company running entirely on spreadsheet-based operations – no Bill of Materials, manual data entry across Finance, Sales, Purchasing, Production and Warehousing. No integrated ERP or CRM system. Business needed full digital transformation to compete effectively, improve data accuracy, reduce manual effort and enable AI-driven sales capability. Legacy systems included Access databases, Dimensions Finance and multiple disconnected spreadsheets across divisions.
The Task
Brought in as ERP/CRM Consultant and Programme Manager to lead end-to-end transformation from legacy spreadsheet operations to integrated Microsoft D365 CRM Sales and Business Central ERP. Scope covered Lead to Cash and Order to Cash processes across all business functions. Required to deliver within a fixed go-live date whilst managing the MSP relationship, internal stakeholders and C-suite governance
The Action / Approach
Partnered with C-suite to define and deliver end-to-end change strategy. Facilitated as-is and to-be business analysis with key SMEs and MSP to establish single solution vision. Established solution design with business stakeholders and external MSP functional consultants. Led legacy CRM and ERP data cleanse, ETL, migration and third-party system integration including EDI, Bank and Sales-i. Delivered CPQ Production Configurator replacing manual BOM processes. Accountable for UAT, cutover planning and go-live execution preventing disruption to production, sales and invoicing. Strengthened post go-live financial governance across CoA, GRNI, AP and AR Finance Reporting. Delivered AI Sales Copilot enablement alongside the CRM implementation.
The Result
