The Situation

The client selected a ‘Hard Brexit’ scenario and mobilised a programme to secure market access for clients in remaining EU27 countries. Two exstant EU entities in Madrid and Frankfurt would be repurposed to ensure business and revenue continuity.

The Task

Appointed to provide the operational designs and policies to extend the Group and UK Governance structure for the CRO function to the repurposed entities.

The Action / Approach

Extracted existing Governance structure for CRO UK and engaged in discussions with CRO UK and senior Risk stakeholders in Europe to extend Governance in line with the principle of delegated authority, CRO Europe role/vs entity leadership, consideration of local entity Board and CRO relationships, and local Regulatory rules on management bodies.

Created a CRO Target Operating Model to reflect the activities of 110FTE.

Authored 8 policy framework documents covering Risk Management, Risk Strategy, ICAAP and Risk Appetite.

The Result

Successful completion of Governance structure, TOM design and delivery of 8 fully compliant policy documents prior to the capitalisation and go-live of the repurposed entities.
