Digitalisation of the Supply Chain - enabling competitive differentiation and increasing market share
The Situation
The retail landscape is changing with a shift towards internet ordering and direct deliveries to customers. Supply Chain is now more than just moving boxes and companies need to start looking at using their supply chain to remain competitive in the market place. There was a need for IT to leverage the supply chain to drive the business digital strategy.
The Task
I was asked to provide an IT roadmap to improve supply chain efficiencies and provide scalability both for direct deliveries plus click and collect.
The Action / Approach
I worked with the business to identify, agree and prioritise new ideas and opportunities to generate business value around our eCommerce strategy. I worked with suppliers and the business to identify areas for improvements, defined and agreed to future vision and then worked back to provide a feasible delivery roadmap
The Result
I provided an IT roadmap in collaboration with operations to allow the eCommerce operations to expand whilst maintaining customer satisfaction.
