HellermannTyton had grown by acquisition, leaving 39 countries each operating essentially as an independent business. A new global IT function was set up to centralise infrastructure, delivery methods and information security, and the EMEA Microsoft Dynamics 365 implementation needed a stop and fix.

Build a delivery function for the new global IT function, and investigate and recover the EMEA D365 implementation.

I built the delivery function from nothing: I brought in the tools, designed the governance for all delivery across the 39 countries, and hired and managed a team of four contract project managers, a communications manager, a project coordinator and a service transition lead. I led the stop and fix investigation of the EMEA D365 implementation and made project and system structure recommendations to the executive, who then asked me to build the project team and implement it. I also integrated previous acquisitions.

Within 13 months, a single delivery function with common governance across all 39 countries, with more than 20 projects run through it. The EMEA D365 implementation was restructured and taken forward by the team I built.
